FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Fountainhead College Approved by the National Security Agency (NSA) PRWeb: January 20, 2005 Knoxville, TN -- January 20, 2005 -- Fountainhead College of Technology, located in Knoxville, TN, is the only Tennessee college to be recognized as having met the criteria to award four information assurance certificates approved by the National Security Agency's (NSA) Committee on National Security Systems (CNSS). Formal recognition and certificates will be presented to representatives from Fountainhead by the Assistant Secretary of Defense for National Information Infrastructure at the annual CNSS awards ceremony to be hosted in June 2005. Because the curriculum itself has been approved, in addition to their degree, successful graduates of the Network Security & Forensics Bachelor program will receive the following CNSS certificates without additional testing requirements: Information Assurance Professional (4011) Designated Approving Authority (4012) System Administration in Information Systems Security (4013) Information Systems Security Officer (4014) As part of Fountainhead's ongoing dedication to maintaining the highest standards of technical education excellence, Fountainhead voluntarily submitted its curriculum to be evaluated under the rigorous CNSS IA courseware approval process. According to the CNSS website, “CNSS certified institutions not only receive national recognition they also serve as a model for other academic, commercial and government education and training institutions. They play a large role in providing standardized IA education and training through their degree and certification programs. Certifications incorporated into IA programs provide added value to classes and degree programs. … Students who attend CNSS certified institutions will be better equipped to meet the challenges facing our national information assurance infrastructure. CNSS certified institutions provide their students with certificates that display the CNSS logo. This is beneficial because many hiring officials trust a certification authority to say that an individual is skilled at a certain level.” ( http://www.nsa.gov/ia/academia/iacmap.cfm?MenuID=10.1.1.1 ) About Fountainhead College of Technology Fountainhead College of Technology, formerly Tennessee Institute of Electronics, was established in 1947 and offers Bachelor degrees in Network Security & Forensics and Technical Management, as well as Associate degrees in Computer Programming, Website Development, Information Technology, and Electronics Engineering.
