| KNOXVILLE, TN —Fountainhead College of Technology has been designated a National Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education (CAEIAE) by the National Security Agency (NSA) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
This prestigious designation recognizes Fountainhead’s Network Security & Forensics bachelor’s degree program as one of the best in the nation. It is the only cybersecurity bachelor’s degree offered by a CAEIAE in Tennessee.
From the NSA website: “The goal of the NSA/DHS sponsored program is to reduce vulnerability in our national information infrastructure by promoting higher education in information assurance (IA), and producing a growing number of professionals with IA expertise in various disciplines. CAEIAE Institutions serve as regional centers of IA expertise and provide programs aimed at retooling and retaining current federal and state information technology personnel.”
In addition to rigorous examination of the curriculum, Fountainhead was also evaluated on student resources and equipment, cybersecurity outreach efforts, faculty expertise and information security training standards.
Fountainhead is the only nationally accredited college in the nation and one of only a handful of colleges across the United States to obtain this elite status. CAEIAE peers include Stanford, West Point and Purdue University.
Universities and colleges designated as CAEIAE’s are eligible to apply for scholarships and grants through both the National Science Foundation and the Department of Defense Information Assurance Scholarship Programs.
From the NSA/DHS Partnership press release: "America is already reaping benefits from the current Centers. Graduates steeped in information assurance education are now entering the federal and greater American workforce. Those graduates, and graduates to come, are forming the cornerstone for America, taking cyber security to the very edges of the National Information Infrastructure and the Global Information Grid," said Daniel G. Wolf, Director, Information Assurance Directorate, National Security Agency.”
“We are dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of technical education and we do so by providing our students with the most beneficial and current curriculum programs available,” said Richard Rackley, president of Fountainhead College of Technology. “These individuals are learning to protect networks and computers from viruses and hackers while also focusing on Cybersecurity.”
